World Bank’s seminar on the ASEANServices Integration Report

The EABC joined the World Bank’s seminar on the ASEAN Services Integration Report on 23 June 2015. This report is a collaboration between the ASEAN Secretariat and the World Bank as a part of building capacity for the ASEAN Secretariat on the monitoring and evaluation of the regional economic integration.

The summary of the Report’s key findings highlights (1) the importance of services in strengthening the regional economy, (2) insufficient services liberalization and development in the region, (3) lack of regulatory cooperation and clarification among the ASEAN member states to enhance services trade, and (4) policy recommendations to complete intra-regional liberalization and monitoring the implementation of related initiatives and measures.
