
EABC – EU-ASEAN Sustainable Connectivity Package (SCOPE) Trade Project: Activity 2.1.1 Survey
The EU-ASEAN Sustainable Connectivity Package (SCOPE) Trade project aims to improve sustainable connectivity between the EU and ASEAN, and within ASEAN with a focus on trade, economic connectivity and sustainable value chains. Output 2 “Improved capacities of ASEAN for digital connectivity” aims to bring a maximum number of ASEAN MSMEs in the digital economy by the project end, to contribute to narrowing the digital divide within the region and to increase digital connectivity in ASEAN and with the EU.
This survey contributes to the Assessment of gaps impeding ASEAN MSMEs from engaging in cross-border e-commerce and will result in formulating actionable recommendations on bridging these gaps.
Activity 2.1.1 of the EU-ASEAN SCOPE-Trade project envisages the following sub-activities:
- Assess gaps impeding ASEAN MSMEs from engaging in cross-border e-commerce and advance adoption of existing ASEAN tools and initiatives.
- Analyse BSO service delivery capabilities and gaps in delivering MSME digitalization and e-commerce support services.
- Develop capacity building program for BSOs on e-commerce offering for MSMEs, based on best examples in ASEAN and the EU.
- Develop and deploy the learning modules for ASEAN MSMEs using online platforms and in-person delivery through the network of BSOs and trained regional advisors.
- Develop partnerships with e-commerce ecosystem enablers in ASEAN – marketplaces, tech companies, logistics and payment providers and establish linkages with MSMEs.
- Deliver capacity building and coaching for BSO Service Portfolio development and delivery, and service delivery digitalization.
- Facilitate stronger regional networking and collaboration among ASEAN BSOs supporting MSMEs in the digital economy and in e-commerce, and with EU BSOs.
