Plan W Thailand: The success CSR story of Diageo Moet Hennessy (Thailand)

Diageo Moet Hennessy Thailand in collaboration with Mechai Viravaidya Foundation have kicked off ‘Plan W: Empowering Women Through Learning’.The program has focused on community investment at Nong Ta Kem village in Burirum with an aim to improve local economic conditions. The two-year project has directly benefited close to 6,000 villagers, through core initiatives. We believe that by educating a woman we can also improve health and social outcomes for her family.

Mrs. Jayne Harvey, Managing Director, Diageo Moet Hennessy (Thailand) said “Despite women forming two-thirds of the world’s labor force, they continue to earn only 10% of total global income. Asia Pacific is considered one of the most effected regions in regards to gender inequality issues. Educating women in the region is required to empower the community’s role as the foundation of sustainable national and global development. Additionally, countries with lower gender inequality rates tend to have higher capacity in development and competitiveness.”
