ARE YOU THE EABC POLICY MANAGER?

EABC the European Chamber of Commerce Thailand is the leading voice for European business in Thailand. Advocacy is EABC’s core business. Join a small, well-educated, committed and dynamic team to be the catalyst for EABCs advocacy development and management. EABC has twelve Working Groups covering industry sectors and other areas of focus, which are the focal point of advocacy. Essentially this role is to support the Working Groups’ effective functioning and EABCs advocacy efforts overall. The EABC Policy manager will have and will develop skills in supporting EABC’s advocacy activities and efforts, which include:

1. Through engagement via Working Group, determine optimal outcomes and positions on key points of policy, regulation and law and strive to build consensus in the foreign business community on these points.

2. Arrange small or medium sized group dialogues with government agencies by direct contact with support, mid-level and other staffs in government agencies, or private sector organisations.

3. Support in the preparation and presentation of written submissions and the EABC European Position Paper

4. Be part of the engagement towards EU-Thailand Free Trade Agreement closure

5. Arrange group meetings with government agencies and industry organisations

6. Arrange talks, speaking slots, seminars, conferences or participating in them

7. Supporting the bi-annual EABC Advisory Council

8. Assist as needed with set up and conduct of regular Working Group meetings

Skills and qualifications:

Interest and Learning: A keen interest in political, economic, and international business / international relations realms; Knowledge, Skills and Aptitude fitting this job function.

Language: Proficiency in spoken and written both Thai and English; ability to translate

Qualifications: Bachelor or Master’s Degree in economics, politics, international relations or similar.

Work Experience: Two years minimum in policy advocacy, government relations or similar.

Gender preference: None

Interaction: Works with board members, Working Group chairs, Industry bodies, government agencies and other external stakeholders; two mentors being board members who are chairs of active working groups will invest in learning and growth.
