EABC - Meeting with the Department of Intellectual Property (DIP)

On 4 December 2025, EABC representatives led by President, Mrs. Paranee Adulyapichet, Vice-Presidents, Mr. Bob Fox and Mr. Jan Eriksson, and members of the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Working Group led by Working Group Chair, Mrs. Pavinee Bunyamissara, met with the Department of Intellectual Property (DIP), led by Director-General of the DIP, Mrs. Auramon Supthaweethum, for a constructive dialogue on Thailand’s intellectual property (IP) landscape.

The discussion focused on Thailand’s efforts to align IP protection with international standards, while also prioritising proactive measures to prevent and combat IP violations. Key developments included updates on the new patent submission system and potential for deeper exchanges with European IP practices.

EABC also highlighted the role of its Illicit Trade Sub-Task Force in promoting cross-agency cooperation and strengthening the enforcement of IP rights—critical steps toward safeguarding innovation and building investor confidence.

These efforts support broader preparedness for the EU–Thailand Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations and ensure a shared commitment to a transparent, innovation-driven economy that enhances Thailand’s competitiveness and IP resilience.
