EABC – Meeting with French Embassy in Bangkok

On 22 June 2026, representatives from the EABC were pleased to meet with Mrs. Mathilde Teruya, Deputy Head of Mission, and Mr. Jean Sol-Macher, Economic Counsellor, at the French Embassy in Bangkok to exchange views on the EU–Thailand Free Trade Agreement (FTA), Thailand’s OECD accession process, and the country’s business and investment environment.

During the meeting, EABC presented key findings from the 2025 EABC EU–Thailand FTA Survey Report, highlighting the priorities of European businesses and the opportunities that an ambitious and comprehensive FTA could bring to both Thailand and the European Union. The exchange also covered policy areas relevant to the negotiations, including regulatory transparency, services liberalisation, intellectual property rights, innovation, skills development, competitiveness, and market access.

The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange perspectives on the progress of the EU–Thailand FTA negotiations and broader developments relating to Thailand’s business and investment environment, highlighting the value of continued dialogue between the public and private sectors.
