EABC Luncheon: Advancing Trade, Investment, and FTAs in a Shifting Global Landscape

On 30 June 2025, EABC successfully hosted the “EABC Luncheon: Advancing Trade, Investment, and FTAs in a Shifting Global Landscape” at The Athenee Hotel Bangkok.

EABC was honoured to welcome H.E. Mr. Pichai Naripthaphan, Minister of Commerce, as keynote speaker, alongside Ms. Renita Bhaskar, Minister Counsellor at the EU Delegation to Thailand. Together, they offered valuable insights on the progress of the EU–Thailand Free Trade Agreement (FTA), reaffirming it as a top priority for both the Thai government and EU stakeholders. Additionally, we were also honored to welcome esteemed Thai government representatives whose insights are instrumental in shaping Thailand’s trade and investment landscape, including Mr. Varavongsa Ramangkura, Vice Minister for Commerce, Ms. Chotima Iemsawasdikul, Director General of the Department of Trade Negotiations, and Mr. Werapong Prapha, Thailand Trade Representative.

 As the 6th round of negotiations concluded recently in Bangkok, notable progress was achieved, with agreements reached on SMEs, Trade and Sustainable Development (TSD), and Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT). These outcomes signal growing momentum and highlight the importance of continuing engagement to finalise the agreement by the end of this year.
