Courtesy Dialogue with Ministry of Commerce, Trade Policy and Strategic Office December 9, 2015
The EABC Advocacy team in collaboration with JFCCT ICT working group hosted a meeting with Trade Policy and Strategy Office, Ministry of Commerce to discuss services sector development in Thailand. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Bob Fox, JFCCT/EABC ICT working Chair, attendees from the Ministry of Commerce led by Ms. Pimchanok Vonkhorporn, Deputy Director General of the Trade Policy and Strategy Office.
The discussion covered a wide range of issues, namely, importance and roles of services sector, concept of services sector liberalization, under-developed services areas, cloud services, e-commerce, Foreign Business Act (FBA), BOI investment scheme. The ICT WG members urged for the revision of law/regulation as well as related frameworks to better serve the liberalization of services sector in Thailand. Further dialogue is anticipated.
