Digital Economy/ICT working group meeting 9/2021 on 14 September

On 14th September 2021, Digital Economy/ICT Working Group held its ninth working group meeting for 2021. Topics included; Economic update, Digital Platforms Decree, Data Retention Notification, PDPA group 3 issues consultation,  eCommerce Tax, Fast Track Regulatory Reform, Digital enablement in banking, OPDC engagement, Cybersecurity, FBA, IPR issues, EU-TH FTA and EU-ABC Ministerial visits.

The EABC Digital Economy/ ICT working group prepared the detailed comment submission on the draft Personal Data Protection Act  sub-regulations group 3 and submitted this on 24 September, with contributions from many. Draft PDPA sub-regulations are categorized into 3 groups.

The 3rd group of draft sub-regulations included
1. Codes of Conduct
2. Automated Processing and Data Processing Impact Assessment
3. Standard and Certification
4. International Cooperation

These are at concept stage; the draft regulations should be available after the end of the year once the Personal Data Protection Commission is formed.
