EABC: EU-ABC webinar on Energy Transition in ASEAN.

On 5th April 2023 – EU-ABC held a webinar on : via Zoom. The webinar explored how ASEAN can grow sustainably by transitioning to renewables and energy sources that are less carbon intensive.

The webinar also marked the launch of the ‘ ‘ paper, which is the result of a collaborative effort between the EABC -The European Chamber of Commerce Thailand, EU-ASEAN Business Council,EuroCham Cambodia, EuroCham Indonesia (The European Business Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia), EUROCHAM Malaysia,European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines, and EuroCham Vietnam

Opening remarks was made by Ms. Lazeena Rahman, Senior Climate Finance Specialist, Southeast Asia Department – Energy Division, Asian Development Bank. Overview of Energy Transition Paper was provided by Mr. Daniel Pans, Board Member, EU-ASEAN Business Council and Eurocham Malaysia, Founder and Group Chief Executive Officer, DPO International.

Mr. Chris Humphrey, Executive Director, EU-ASEAN Business Council moderated an insightful and engaging panel discussion between regional experts, including Ms. Lazeena Rahman from Asian Development Bank (ADB),
Ms. Marie Gail de Sagon from The ASEAN Secretariat, Mr. Frank Phuan from EDP Renewables, Laurent Margoloff from ING, and Mr. Massimiliano Tropean from Eurocham Cambodia.
