Courtesy Meeting with the MICT Permanent Secretary

On 11 December 2013, EABC/JFCCT ICT Working Group led by Mr Bob Fox, EABC Vice Chair and JFCCT Chair of the ICT working group, paid a courtesy visit to the Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Information and Communication Technology (MICT)—Dr.Surachai Srisaracam.

The purpose of this meeting was to learn of the Permanent Secretary’s vision on IT services and strategic development plan for Thailand and to discuss key issues in Telecoms and IT sector –including attaining an optimal industry structure in telecoms, SOE reform, free movement of skills, and Foreign Dominance Notification as an impediment to investment in the sector –were discussed. Participating in the event were also Mr Kristian Bo, Dr Chanakan Sriratanaban, Mr Kriengkrai Bhuvanijand Mr Per Lind.  The working group was invited to engage further on the main issues in a following up meeting early in 2014.
