Amendment to the Labour Protection Act to Include Work From Home

After long anticipation that the Government would issue work-from-home law, Thai parliament has recently passed the Labour Protection Act (No. 8) BE 2566 (2023), on 28 December 2022, to amend the Labour Protection Act BE 2541 (1998) (the “LPA”) to include the issue thereof (work from home describes work being done remotely, instead of at the employer’s establishment or premises).

The Thai Revenue Department extends the period of tax measures to encourage use of the e-Tax Invoice & e-Receipt, and e-Withholding Tax system for another three years until 31 December 2025

On 24 January 2023, the Minister of Finance reported that the Thai Cabinet approved to extends the period of tax measures[1] to encourage widespread use of the e-Tax Invoice & e-Receipt, and e-Withholding Tax systems to promote Thailand’s digital transformation for both the public and private sectors.

BOI’s New Investment Promotion Strategy (2023 – 2027)

On 8 December 2022, Thailand’s Board of Investment (“BOI”), one of the Thai government’s agencies set up to aid the fulfillment of key development schemes, announced its new investment promotion strategy for the next five years (2023 – 2027) in the Announcement No. 8/2565 Re: Policies and Criteria for Investment Promotion (“Announcement“).
