EABC - the “Voice x Vision: Thai-EU FTA in Focus” Stakeholder Consultation Workshop

On 21 August 2025, EABC representatives, led by EABC President, Mrs. Paranee Adulyapichet, EABC Board Member, Ms. Onanong Pratakphiriya, and EABC Policy Manager, Ms. Pitchapha Suwanalert, participated in the “Voice x Vision: Thai-EU FTA in Focus” Stakeholder Consultation Workshop at the Athenee Hotel.

The consultation was organised by the Department of Trade Negotiations (DTN), Ministry of Commerce (MOC), in partnership with the International Institute for Trade and Development (ITD) and the Thailand Trade Representative (TTR). The programme was divided into an open seminar in the morning and focus group discussions in the afternoon, wherein participants shared perspectives on market access for goods, services, and investment. Participants included private companies, farmers, SMEs, academics, and civil society groups.

The Minister of Commerce, H.E. Jatuporn Buruspat, gave an opening speech stressing the importance of consultation before accelerating negotiations. He noted that upcoming negotiation chapters will be more challenging and issue-specific, requiring broad-based participation.

EABC reaffirms its commitment to supporting open, inclusive stakeholder mechanisms, to continue serving as a strong voice for the EU business community in Thailand, and to foster collaboration and trust-building.
