Press Release: Matchmaking Event between Thai & EU SME's

Bangkok, 2 March 2017 – Recently EABC – European Association for Business and Commerce – and OSMEP – Office of Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion – co-organized a Matchmaking & Networking Event between Thai and European SME’s at the British Thai Chamber of Commerce. More than 60 participants from Thai and European SME companies joined the event – a BIG SUCCESS from the feedback from the participating SME’s!

Mr. Rolf-Dieter Daniel, President of EABC stated that “SME’s are becoming increasingly important for the Thai as well as European economies and the trend is that SMEs more and more do business with other SME’s. This joint initiative by EABC and OSMEP is in line with the growing importance of SME’s and tries to offer SME’s knowledge, support and new contacts for them to grow and to internationalize.”

Dr. Wimonkan Kosumas, Deputy Director General of OSMEP made a presentation on the various supportive programs OSMEP is providing for SME’s. Dr. Bonggot Anuroj, Senior Executive Investment Advisor Thailand Board of Investment spoke about “Updated BOI Investment Promotion Policy for SME’s” while Ms. Pattamaporn Chaiyakool, Trust Manager, on behalf of the SME Bank provided information on SME’s Private Equity Trust Fund 2, an alternative way for SME’s to grow their business.

All participating companies made brief introductions of their business representing various sectors of the economy. Many of the Thai SME’s from OSMEP’s National Award list are interested to find new markets in Europe and EABC can play a supporting role in this process.

Finally, a Networking among all participants and exchanging contacts and sharing experiences was carried out. EABC and OSMEP will plan for the next step in this successful collaboration.
