PANDORA supports education in rural area under ‘11th My School Project’
PANDORA, a Danish jewellery brand and Thailand’s largest jewellery manufacturer and exporter continued a new decade of philanthropic ‘My School Project’ to improve Thai education in rural areas.
On 2017 Children’s Day, 14th January, Mr Nils Helander, Senior Vice President, Manufacturing and Managing Director of PANDORA Production Co., Ltd, along with up to 80 management and volunteer employees attended PANDORA Academic Building Handover Ceremony as well as together donated stationery, sport equipment, scholarship, water filter and cooler and playground equipment in the ‘11th My School Project’ to Ban Non Bok School, Nonsomboon, Nachaluay, Ubon Ratchathani.
‘My School Project’ has been continuously run for 11 years in 2017. The schools in rural areas that once PANDORA’s employees went to and still lack proper facilities are proposed and selected annually. The selected school in 2017, Ban Non Bok School, acted as education hub for villagers in 3 villages where the parents cannot afford the education in the city, located 40 km away from the villages, for their children. The school facilities were in a poor condition and the learning equipment and stationery were not sufficient for the students.
‘PANDORA has a strong passion to run our business along with social and community contribution. We realise that social contribution on education will lay the firm foundation to the sustainability. This project thus focuses on providing support on academic building construction for the children so they will have a proper place to learn, suitable with students’ learning stage.
This project also opens opportunity for PANDORA’s employees to propose the school that they once went to. This contributes to their pride as when they work and have secure job, they can help improving and developing their childhood school in their beloved community.’ said Mr Helander.
‘I feel so glad that PANDORA realises the importance of school in rural areas, especially the school that its employees once went to. The new facilities from PANDORA is like an educational opportunity given to the unfortunate children in rural area to develop and enhance their knowledge. I thank PANDORA so much and believe that what PANDORA granted to us today will further benefit community and students.’ said Mr Natthipat Parnsomboon, Ban Non Bok School Director.
