Meeting with the Minister of Finance 14 November 2016

On Monday 14 November a large delegation from EABC led by our President Mr. Rolf-Dieter Daniel met with the Minister of Finance H.E. Mr. Apisak  Tantivorawong and his team.
The EABC delegation comprised of Chairs and representatives of the majority of  EABC Working Groups notably: Automotive Chair Stefan Teucher, Rail & Road Infrastructure Chair Georg Wolff, Food & Beverages Chair Kaan Baral, Healthcare & Pharmaceuticals Chair Dr. Thavirap Tantiwongse, Cross Sectoral Issues Chair Nicholas Bellamy, ICT Chair Bob Fox, Transport & Logistics Chair John Quarmby and Insurance Chair Jerome Kelly.

Topics discussed included update on EABC activities, Excise Tax Calculation for Suggested Retail Price without increasing Tax Burden to  businesses, Alternative  to disclosure of price structure, sharp increase in Ceiling Fees  and Excise Tax Rate diminishing economy, status of  the Customs Act, clarity on Customs Transit Procedures and  High Tariffs,  financing of rolling stock and equipment for railway  operators by European suppliers, Access to finance for startups and SMEs,  FinTech, Importance of the Internet to the financial  services industry and its customers, as a business tool, and  Internet governance and security,  update on removing constraints to allow greater purchases  of insurance policies sold in Thailand in other  currencies and a follow up on Patent Box Proposal.
