Meeting with Advisor to Deputy Minister of Transport

On Wednesday 5 July 2017 Mr. Georg Wolff, Chair of EABC Rail & Road Infrastructure Working Group, Mr. Chaladbhum Temkasem, EABC Policy Manager and Ms. Lena Friedrich, EABC Intern met with Mr. Charoenrat Chimsamran, Advisor to Deputy Minister at Ministry of Transport.

EABC was called to discuss the benefits of RAMS, Lifecycle Cost and new technologies such as sensor techniques to make rail and road infrastructure more safe and durable and to simplify maintenance. Further, EABC addressed the problem occurring due to various (and partly no longer appropriate) standards.

The Ministry also consulted on its future visit to Germany to seek a closer collaboration with EABC for state-of-the art technology for Thailand locomotive projects and to introduce evaluation of project and tender drafted by independent foreign experts with qualified experience in similar projects but no economic interest in Thailand. The visit will be in cooperation with the EABC Rail and Road Infrastructure Working Group. Another consultative meeting is expected shortly.
