EABC -World IP Day 2026 “IP & Sports: Ready, Set, Innovate”
On 21 April 2026, the European Association for Business and Commerce (EABC) representatives, led by Pavinee Bunyamissara, Chair of the Intellectual Property Rights Working Group, participated in World IP Day 2026, hosted by the Department of Intellectual Property under the theme “IP & Sports: Ready, Set, Innovate” at Siam Paragon.
The event was officially opened by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce, H.E. Mrs. Supajee Suthumpun, reaffirming Thailand’s commitment to advancing IP as a strategic driver of innovation and growth in achieving a thriving creative economy.
A key highlight was the spotlight on the Thailand Women’s National Volleyball Team demonstrating how sporting success can translate into sustainable revenue through effective IP management, including broadcasting rights, content development, merchandising, and sponsorship. This reflects how IP can also transform athletic excellence into a part of long-term economic value. A strong balance of IP creation and protection will support sustainable growth across the IP’s ecosystem.
As Thailand advances its creative economy, EABC looks forward to continuing to work with the Department of Intellectual Property to strengthen the IP system and promote greater inclusive growth in the IP landscape.
