
EABC: The Workshop on the New Customs Notification System on Border Enforcement of Trade Marks and Copyrights in Thailand organised by IPKEY SEA.
On 24 November 2022 – Ms. Khemika Ratanakul, Chair of Food & Beverages Working Group moderated a Roundtable Discussion & Open Forum on the New Customs Notification System: Issues, Challenges, and Opportunities at the Workshop on the New Customs Notification System on Border Enforcement of Trade Marks and Copyrights in Thailand organised by IPKEY SEA.
Following the issuance of Customs Notification No. 106-2565 in relation to the Export, Import, and Transit of Trademark- and Copyright- Infringing Goods, the workshop aimed to promote awareness and better understanding of the practical implications of the new customs notification system for EU businesses and brand owners in Thailand.
Opening remarks were delivered by Mr. Sirapat Vajraphai, Assistant Director General, Department of Intellectual Property (DIP), Mr. Tawal Rodjit, Director of the Enforcement Division, Customs Department, and Mr. Martin Schlotelburg, IP Attaché, Delegation of the European Union to Thailand.
Ms. Khemika Ratanakul shared EABCs perspectives and recommendations, together with Ms. Kemasiri Nitchakorn, Director of Intellectual Property Rights Enforcement Affairs Office, Department of Intellectual Property of Thailand and Ms. Patsorn Kiatpongpan, Senior Customs Technical Officer, IPR Enforcement Unit, Enforcement Section III, Enforcement Division, The Customs Department of Thailand.
Closing remarks was made by Mr. Tiago Guerreiro, Project Leader of the IP Key South-East Asia Project.
