EABC – Meeting with German Embassy in Bangkok
On 28 May 2026, representatives from the EABC were pleased to meet with Mrs. Ebba Scholl, Deputy Head of Mission, and Mr. Johannes Kerner, Economic and Commercial Counsellor, from the German Embassy in Bangkok to exchange views on the EU–Thailand Free Trade Agreement (FTA), Thailand’s OECD accession process, and Thailand’s business and investment environment.
During the discussion, EABC shared key findings from the EABC EU–Thailand FTA Survey Report, highlighting priorities and challenges identified by European businesses operating in Thailand. The discussion covered a range of topics including regulatory reform, innovation, services liberalisation, skills development, competitiveness, intellectual property rights (IPR), transparency, and practical market access barriers affecting businesses.
The meeting also underscored the importance of continued public-private dialogue and cooperation in supporting Thailand’s reform agenda, strengthening investor confidence, and advancing the EU–Thailand FTA negotiations.
