
EABC / EU-ABC Mission Trip to Thailand Day 3
On 17 July 2026, the final day of the EABC / EU-ABC Mission Trip to Thailand began with a meeting with Werapong Prapra, Thai Trade Representative, to exchange views on the Thailand-EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA), digital trade, the Thailand-EU strategic partnership, and sector-specific priorities. The discussion reaffirmed the shared commitment to advancing the FTA and strengthening Thailand-EU economic cooperation.
The delegation also met with the EU Delegation to Thailand, represented by Renita Bhaskar, Minister Counsellor and Head of the Trade and Economic Section, who reaffirmed the EU’s commitment to the Thailand-EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA). The discussion underscored the importance of continued public-private dialogue and information sharing to help advance the negotiations and ensure the agreement delivers meaningful benefits for both Thailand and the European Union.
The delegation then met with the Bank of Thailand, led by Piti Disyatat, Deputy Governor for Monetary Stability, to discuss Thailand’s macroeconomic outlook, financial stability, financial sector competitiveness, and developments in digital and emerging payment systems.
The mission concluded with a meeting at the Ministry of Public Health, led by H.E. Patthana Promphat, Minister of Public Health. Discussions focused on healthcare financing and access to healthcare, food policy, nutrient regulation, and other key public health priorities.
