EABC Digital Economy/ICT working group meeting 8/2021 on 17 August

On 17th August 2021, Digital Economy/ICT Working Group held its eighth working group meeting for 2021. Topics included; Economic indicators; vaccinations; vaccine apps; vaccine passports; rapid test kits, State of Digital Economy, Copyright; on-line intermediaries, Digital Platform Governance Framework, Fast Track Regulatory Reform, FBA, PDPA status, Cybersecurity, pandemic-related personal technology and telecoms industry development.

Digital Economy/ICT Working Group also organised a special one hour Digital component of the IPR working group on 27th August with a focus on IPR-related Digital issues, including software piracy, licensing models, on-line governance, data privacy and responsibility of on-line intermediaries for IPR violations. The special session included an overview of the Digital Economy, activities and engagement of the Digital group, on-line governance and the mass of regulation in the pipeline.

Four European companies (members of the Digital Economy/ICT group) in software development, systems integration and owner / operator of a global leading travel platform shared their experience and insights on software development/licensing, software piracy, malware and trade secrets. Thanks to 7 Peaks Software, Amadeus, Runtime Asia and Net Protection Concepts International.
