EABC Congratulates The Thai Government On The Surge Of The Ease Of Doing Business Ranking 2018 Conducted By The World Bank
Bangkok, 6 November 2017 – The European Association for Business and Commerce (EABC), the Voice of all European companies and Chambers in Thailand, congratulates Thailand on its surges in the Ease of Doing Business Ranking 2018. The World Bank’s latest “Doing Business 2018” report puts Thailand in 26th place among 190 economies in ease of doing business, up from 48th place in 2017, a surge of 20 ranks on the previous rating.
The acceptance of this widely recognized standard from the World Bank in ease of doing business significantly promotes foreign investment in Thailand. However, EABC still recommends to the Royal Thai Government to improve in some areas to enhance further economic efficiency such as:
- Improve the ease of Visa, Work Permits and 90 days Reporting requirements
- Support the importance of English for the Thai workforce
- Improve the ease of Administrative procedures
- Improve the Investment Climate in Thailand in the area of Taxation
EABC has met with Thai Authorities more than 70 times in 2017. EABC, therefore, continues to support and work closely with the Royal Thai Government to strengthen economic relations and support the improvement of ease of doing business in the future.
EABC President Mr. Rolf-Dieter Daniel was quoted as saying “Thailand’s surge in the Ease of Doing Business Ranking 2018 shows that Thailand is taking an important step forward in the right direction to improve and simplify business operations for foreign companies and ensure to reduce trade barriers which consequently will attract new trade and investment to the country.” Mr. Daniel also mentioned “EABC has played an active part in the process of improving the ease of doing business and we will continue to help the Royal Thai Government in strengthening the country’s competitiveness. We have demonstrated in the past our commitment to support the Royal Thai Government in increasing foreign investments and will continue this also in future”
สมาคมการค้ายูโรเปียนฯแสดงความยินดีกับผลการจัดอันดับความสะดวกในการทำธุรกิจของไทยที่ดีขึ้น 20 อันดับ จากผลสำรวจของธนาคารโลก (World Bank)
กรุงเทพฯ 6 พ.ย. 2560 – สมาคมการค้ายูโรเปียนเพื่อธุรกิจและการพาณิชย์ (EABC) ซึ่งเป็นกระบอกเสียงของธุรกิจยุโรปและหอการค้าจากชาติยุโรปในประเทศไทย ได้แสดงความยินดีกับประเทศไทยที่ได้รับผลการจัดอันดับความสะดวกในการทำธุรกิจของไทยดีขึ้น 20 อันดับ ติดอันดับ 26 จาก 190 ประเทศที่มีความสะดวกในการทำธุรกิจมากสุด (Ease of Doing Business 2018) จากการรายงานผลการวิจัยของธนาคารโลก (World Bank)
ทางสมาคมการค้ายูโรเปียนฯ เชื่อว่าการผลการจัดอันดับความยากง่าย ในการทำธุรกิจที่เพิ่มขึ้นของไทยจะส่งผลดีต่อความเชื่อมั่นของนักธุรกิจต่างชาติ และเศรษฐกิจโดยรวมของประเทศ อย่างไรก็ตาม สมาคมการค้ายูโรเปียนฯ ยังมีข้อเสนอรัฐบาลในการพัฒนาศักยภาพทางเศรษฐกิจให้ดียิ่งขึ้นในอีกหลายด้าน อาทิเช่น
- สนับสนุนการเปลี่ยนเงื่อนไข วีซ่า ใบอนุญาติทำงานเพื่อให้เกิดความสะดวกมากขึ้นต่อนักลงทุนทางชาติ
- ส่งเสริมศักยภาพทางภาษาอังกฤษของแรงงานไทย
- พัฒนาประสิทธิภาพของระบบธุระการให้มีความสะดวกและรวดเร็วยิ่งขึ้น
- ปรับปรุงบรรยากาศการลงทุนในประเทศไทยผ่านมาตรการทางภาษี
ในปี 2560 ทางสมาคมการค้ายูโรเปียนฯได้พบปะกับทางรัฐบาลไทยมากกว่า 70 ครั้ง โดยมีจุดมุ่งหมายที่จะส่งเสริมการทำงานของภาครัฐ ในการพัฒนาความสัมพันทางด้านเศรษฐกิจให้เป็นไปอย่างราบรื่นยิ่งขึ้น และมุ่งหวังที่จะส่งเสริมความสัมพันที่ดีกับภาครัฐอย่างต่อเนื่องในอนาคต
ทั้งนี้ นายรอล์ฟ-ดีเตอร์ ดาเนียล ประธานสมาคมฯ ได้กล่าวแสดงความยินดีกับผลการจัดอันดับในครั้งนี้ “จากผลการจัดอันดับที่ดีขึ้นแสดงให้เห็นถึงการพัฒนาไปในทิศทางที่ดีของรัฐบาลไทย ในการสนับสนุนการลงทุนและการลดการกีดกันทางการค้า โดยมุ่งเน้นที่จะส่งเสริมการลงทุนจากนักลงทุนต่างชาติ” โดยนาย ดาเนียล กล่าวเพิ่มเติมอีกว่า “EABC ได้ร่วมมือกับภาครัฐเพื่อเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพความสะดวกในการประกอบธุรกิจมาเป็นอย่างดี และทาง EABC จะยังคงมุ่งมั่นที่จะพูดคุยและสนับสนุนการทำงานของภาครัฐในการพัฒนาศักยภาพด้านเศรษฐกิจ และให้ความช่วยเหลือกลุ่มนักลงทุนในยุโรปให้มาลงทุนในประเทศไทยต่อไปในอนาคต”
