EABC announced the first annual business confidence survey

On 19 December 2012, the European ASEAN Business Centre (EABC) led by Mr Rolf-Dieter Daniel, President, announced the result of the first annual business confidence survey in the press conference at Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit. The media were impressed with the initiative and the result of the survey. The result of the survey was also endorsed by Dr. Supavud Saicheua, Executive Director / Managing Director  (Head of Research Group) Phatra Securities Public Company Limited, whom was honorary invited to give a special talk on “Putting Thailand in Perspective: Challenges and Way Forward Towards 2013 and Beyond”

The overall outlook of the respondents is optimistic. They viewed that the business environment in Thailand and AEC offers significant opportunities. The majority of respondents plan to expand their business in ASEAN and Thailand. However, this is related to a call for improvement in important areas such as trust in public institutions and political instability, human resource issues, corruption and lack of transparency, and poor logistical infrastructure.
