Dialogue Meeting with Deputy Minister of Transport on 2 November 2016

On 2 November 2016, EABC President, Mr. Rolf-Dieter Daniel, led the EABC Delegation to discuss on railway rolling stock for the State Railway of Thailand with the Deputy Minister of Transport Mr. Ormsin Chivapruck.

The EABC Chairman of Rail and Road Infrastructure Working Group, Mr. Georg Wolff, advised the Deputy Minister on important considerations for the future railway of Thailand: (1) RAMS for long-term quality, (2) Separating financing for new rail projects and maintenance, (3) Real-time data monitoring, (4) Minimum orders to establish rolling stock manufacturing in Thailand, (5) Refurbishment of existing trains, (6) Practical delivery schedule for new trains to encourage participants in the bidding, (7) Modernizing tender specifications, (8) Cooperation in civil engineering inspection and (9) Improving salaries for rail infrastructure engineers. On this occasion, the President presented the EABC Position Paper 2016 and the Paper on Rolling Stock for State Railway of Thailand to the Deputy Minister of Transport where he assigned the SRT and the OTP to study and implement on the EABC made suggestions.
