Day 2: EU-ABC Mission to Thailand with Ministry of Energy
EABC and delegates visited Ministry of Energy for a open discussion with Dr.Prasert Sinsukprasert (Inspector General) Dr.Weerawat Chantanakome (Councilor and Senior Advisor to the Ministry) ,Uthai Muangseemuengdee (Chief Strategic and Planning Group) Yongyooth Horthong (Senior Policy and Plan Analyst), EPPO Thailand, Department of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency
On the discussion cover variety of areas; from the Power Development Plan 2018 to 2036, including plans to increase renewable energy sources, Introduction of EURO5&6, Environmental concern over PM2.5 situation in Thailand, to future of Electric Vehicles in Thailand. The Ministry of Energy is keen for foreign engagement and has emphasize on the importance of PPP in energy sectors.
Dr. Prasert also shared the news that in April 2020, the ministry will announce the bidding of petroleum concessions in Gulf of Thailand under the Production Sharing Contract (PSC) to the public and foreign companies are welcomed to participate.
