Courtesy Meeting with Excise Department on 23 February 2016

On 23 February 2916, EABC led by Mr. Peter Bjork, EABC Executive Director and joined by the Automotive and Food and Beverages Working Groups met with the Principal Advisor on Excise Strategy, Ms. Wilai Tantinantana and the Director of Tax Planning Office, Mr. Nutthakorn Untensute at the Excise Department, Ministry of Finance.

Key discussion included the impact of changing tax base to suggetsed retailed price, pre-audit issues,etc. In addition to tax related issues, the Automotive Working Group also encouraged the approval of UN-ECE test report concerning eco-stickers to reduce NTBs. In this regard, the Excise Department will convey the message to the Thai Industrial Standards Institute (TISI) and the Office of Industrial Economics (OIE).
