Courtesy Meeting between EABC and Ms.Hirunya Suchinai, BOI Secretary General on 4 February 2016

On 4 February 2016, EABC led by Mr. Peter Bjork, Executive Director had a courtesy meeting with the BOI Secretary General, Ms Hirunya Suchinai at the BOI office to discuss on industrial concerned issues regarding the BOI new investment scheme.

On this occasion, EABC also offered our congratulations to Ms. Suchinai on her appointment as a new BOI Secretary General and look forward to strengthening cooperation between BOI and European businesses operated in Thailand.

EABC supported by Cross Sectoral Issues, Automotive and Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Working Groups discussed on various ongoing concerned issues including R&D investment in Medical Hub, competitive enhancement fund for foreign companies, promotion plan for Thailand as a Truck Hub of ASEAN, IHQ incentives packages, manpower shortage, and inconsistent interpretation in granting prilviledges between BOI and Revenue Department, among others. Ms. Suchinai expressed appreciation to receive feedbacks from European industries regarded as assets to help the government improve its attempts to stimulating investment in Thailand in particular during the year 2016 – 2017.
