On 12 March 2025, EABC representatives, led by Mr. Jan Eriksson, Mr. Bob Fox, and Dr. Charanya Nopnukulvised, attended the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) seminar on “Ignite Thailand: Invest in Endless Opportunities” at The Athenee Hotel, Bangkok. The event unveiled BOI’s strategic investment policies aimed at driving new opportunities, fostering innovation, and positioning Thailand as a global investment hub.Prime Minister H.E. Paetongtarn Shinawatra delivered a keynote speech on “Unlimited Investment Opportunities in Thailand,” emphasizing the importance of public-private collaboration in addressing global investment challenges.
She highlighted Thailand’s commitment to long-term investment opportunities, particularly through infrastructure megaprojects such as high-speed rail for enhanced regional connectivity, Laem Chabang Port Phase 3 and airport expansions to strengthen logistics capacity, and the Land Bridge project. She also noted Thailand’s record 1.13 trillion baht in investment applications and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to fostering sustainable investments.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Mr. Pichai Chunhavajira highlighted Thailand’s record-breaking investment applications and outlined key growth sectors targeted for new investments, including semiconductors, advanced electronics, the EV industry, and biotechnology. He also emphasized Thailand’s strategic efforts to expand global trade, with ongoing trade negotiations with 23 countries, including the EU, within this year to enhance market access and investment flows.
EABC remains committed to supporting the EU-Thailand Free Trade Agreement (EUFTA) negotiations and continues to foster an enabling environment for European businesses in Thailand through dedicated working groups focused on investment, trade, and sustainable economic growth.
