A CONSULTATION MEETING ON THE PROTECTION AND ENFORCEMENT OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS

EABC participated in the regular update on IP issues run by the Department of Intellectual Property (DIP), Ministry of Commerce, on 19 August 2019. The Executive Director, Chair and members of EABC’s IPR Working Group and chair of EABC’s Digital Economy/ICT Working Group had the opportunity to provide perspectives and concerns on topics including patents, trade marks (eg plain packaging), copyright (eg responsibility of on-line intermediaries for IPR infringements) and related areas.

This event followed a workshop, organized by DIP, on 19 July on protecting IP rights in the on-line world. On 11-12 September, IP Key (EUIPO) will hold Conference on Online IPR Infringement and the Responsibility of Intermediary Service Providers in Bangkok.
