On 28 August 2017, the press conference of “International Conference on Technology for Sustainable Paths to Thailand’s Future, THAI CANAL – COMPREHENSIVE STUDY OF ALTERNATIVE LOGISTICS SYSTEMS FOR THE MARITIME SILK ROAD” by King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL) and Thai Canal Association for Study and Development (TCA), in support of European Association for Business and Commerce (EABC) was held to highlight the importance of Thai canal feasibilities from both academic and visionary perspectives. The event took place at Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok Hotel.
Mr.Georg M. Wolff, EABC Board member and EABC Chair Advocacy Group – Rail&Road infrastructure, on behalf of EABC insisted “We are sure that the construction of the canal will bring a lot of new industrial investments in the region.”
He added, “For feeding the south and also our southern neighbors, a deep-sea port connected with the canal would certainly offer a huge development potential.”
