Meeting with DIP

On 24 May 2022, EABC had an opportunity to meet with Khun Kanitha Kungsawanich , Deputy Director General, along with other representatives from the International Affairs Office, Legal Affairs Office, and Bilateral Cooperation section of the Department of Intellectual property (Ministry of Commerce).

The meeting was set up under the umbrella of EABC’s Working Group on Intellectual Property Rights.
Constructive discussions during the meeting allowed to cover various topics surrounding the current developments of IP in Thailand, including:

• Patent Act
• MoU on Online advertising
• Draft Customs Notification
• IP and Ransomware
• Post COVID-19 IP Challenges

We also took this occasion to present Khun Kanitha Kungsawanich, with a print copy of EABC’s 2022 European Business Position Paper, which includes a specific chapter on Intellectual Property Rights.
