EABC had the honor of hosting H.E. Sujiro Seam, Ambassador of the European Union to ASEAN, and Mr. Antoine Ripoll, Minister-Counsellor for parliamentary affairs at the European External Action Service (EEAS) Delegation to ASEAN.

On 24 September 2024, EABC had the honor of hosting H.E. Sujiro Seam, Ambassador of the European Union to ASEAN, and Mr. Antoine Ripoll, Minister-Counsellor for parliamentary affairs at the European External Action Service (EEAS) Delegation to ASEAN.

During the visit, H.E. Sujiro Seam provided an overview of the EU’s bilateral Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) with Southeast Asia, with a particular focus on the ongoing EU-Thailand FTA negotiations and how they compare to other regional agreements. Mr. Antoine Ripoll highlighted the role the European Parliament can play in bringing the FTA to fruition.

EABC took this opportunity to share the perspectives of European businesses operating in Thailand on the FTA negotiations.
