RAIL & ROAD INFRASTRUCTURE WG

On March 28th, a delegation of EABC Working Group Rail & Road Infrastructure led by chairman Mr. Georg Wolff, visited the Ministry of Transport. In a meeting of the German-Thai Railway Partnership chaired by the Minister of Transport H.E. Arkhom Termpittayapaisith and the Ambassador of Germany, H.E. Georg Schmidt, the establishment of a German-Thai Railway Association (GTRA) was agreed and the invitation letters to all major stakeholder in the Railway sector of the Kingdom of Thailand, Authorities, Operators, Consultants, Industry, Institutes and Universities, have been signed.
This step is following many month of work in three working groups, where the EABC was representing the position of the European Union.
EABC members Siemens Mobility, TÜV Süd, Civil Engineering Solution and Dorsch Consultants joined the meeting.
GTRA is believed to become a valuable support for the introduction of European Standards at the Railway Sector in Thailand.
Minister Arkhom confirmed to join the workshop about Railway Technology, Operation and Management on April 4th and 5th, organized by GTRA, where several EABC members will be speakers
