DESCRIPTION:On Monday 20 February 2017\, EABC delegation\, led by President Rolf-Dieter Daniel\, had a dialogue meeting with Minister of Industry\, Dr. Uttama Savanayana. Other participants were Mr. Pisit Rangsaritwutikul\, Secretary-General of the Thai Industrial Standards Institute\, Mr. Siriruj Chunlakaratana\, Director-General\, Office of Industrial Economics\, Ms. Suwimon Boonhun\, Office of the Minister\, Ministry of Industry and senior officials from the Ministry of Industry. The EABC participants were Mr. Jan Eriksson\, EABC Vice President\, Mr. Stefan Teuchert\, EABC Board and Chair of Automotive Working Group\, Mr. Georg Wolff\, EABC Board and Chair of Rail and Road Infrastructure Working Group\, Dr. Thavirap Tantiwongse\, EABC Board and Chair of Healthcare and Pharmaceuticals Working Group\, and Mr. Chaladbhum Temkasem\, EABC Policy Manager. The Minister welcomed the EABC to participate in the EV working committee with TISI. TISI will also issue formal letter to the EABC to request for collaboration and training from the European experts for locomotive standards. The Minister urged the EABC to submit the proposal to utilized Competitive Fund for Thai post-graduate to participate in joined R&D program with the European research institutions. The Minister supports to EABC to further discuss with Deputy Minister of Transport Mr. Pichet on setting up locomotive industry in Thailand. Other issues were Visa and Work Permit and Comprehensive package to drive both demand and supply sides for EV development in Thailand.
