DESCRIPTION:Thailand Innovation and Design Expo 2016 \n\n\n\nOn 15 September the Thai Minister of Commerce\, H.E. Ms. Apiradi Tantraporn  opened the Thailand Innovation and Design Expo (T.I.D.E)\, at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.  T.I.D.E. 2016\, organized by the Department of International Trade Promotion\, is in its fourth year and has become the leading exhibition in the area of innovation\, creativity and design. These industries are playing a greater role in maintaining Thailand’s competitiveness in the global market. In order to pursue further development\, Thailand has  started transforming towards a knowledge based economy with innovation\, creativity and design as its key drivers. EABC are organizing a European Pavilion during the T.I.D.E 15-18 September and are hosting 4 European companies; ThaiGerTec\, Husqvarna\, Hightech Garden and Oscar Biz. EABC President Mr. Rolf-Dieter Daniel and VP Mr. Jan Eriksson and EABC Executives participated in the opening ceremony and had the honor and pleasure to welcome H.E . The Thai Minister of Commerce\, H.E. Ms. Apiradi Tantraporn  to our European Pavilion.

One of the European Companies exhibiting at the EABC European Pavilion\, ThaiGerTec represented by the Managing Director Mr. Markus Waidelich received this prestigious Award\, delivered by the Thai Minister of Commerce\, H.E. Ms. Apiradi Tantraporn. EABC representatives led by our President Mr. Rolf-Dieter Daniel and VP Mr. Jan Eriksson and EABC Executives also participated in the ceremony.

Mrs. Apiradi Tantraporn\, was attended by the Director-General of the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP)\, Mrs. Malee Choklumlerd and executives from supporting associations. EABC was represented at the opening ceremony by EABC President\, Mr. Rolf-Dieter Daniel and Chairperson of Transport and Logistics working group\, Mr. John Quarmby. \n  \n \n                        \n                     \nTILOG-LOGISTIX 2016 was recognized as the most comprehensive exhibition on logistics service providers and intralogistics technologies&solutions for ASEAN+6. SUMMARY:The Bangkok Post Forum 2016 titled ‘Moving Thailand Forward’
DESCRIPTION:On 28 September\, EABC President Mr. Rolf-Dieter Daniel together with Executive Director Mr. Peter Bjork and Policy Manager Mr. Chaladbhum Temkasem participated in the Bangkok Post Forum 2016 titled ‘Moving Thailand Forward’ with H.E. Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha. \nThe Prime Minister presented the Government’s ambitious plan to reform the country in many fields to move out from ‘the middle income trap’ to become a developed country in 20 years time\, by 2036. \nThe reason for a 20 years span is to ensure that it will be continuity in the development of Human Recourses including Education. The Prime Minister also explained 4 guidelines for development as strengthening the economy at the grassroots level\, connectivity of Thailand with its neighboring countries\, Thailand 4.0 and development of future industries (the new S- curve) including robotics\, aviation and logistics\, biofuels and biochemical\, digital and medical hub. The Prime Minister also concluded: \n– Thailand’s GDP has improved from 0.8 % in 2014 and is expected to reach 3.5% in the 4th quarter of 2016.\n– Transport and logistics are key competitiveness for Thailand. The government seeks to extend 1.435-m gauge and dual-track system for Thai railways.\n– Thailand ranks 77th on e-Government in 2016\, improved 25 places from last year. The government also aims to implement more on e-Government. \nThe Prime Minister thanked the business community for their recommendations.
