DESCRIPTION:The first part of the webinar series BEING DIGITAL was held on 28 October 1400- 1515 by Zoom Webinar. The series is co-organised by EABC and JFCCT and supported by seven European bilateral chambers and three other foreign chambers. \nThe first Episode of ‘BEING DIGITAL’ series webinar was on  ‘DIGITAL TOOLS: Electronic Meetings\, Electronic Signatures’. \nMr. Kowit Somwaiya\, Managing Partner of Law Plus Ltd\, has a comprehensive view of Electronic Meetings regulation and operation\,. The Emergency Decree on Electronic Meetings B.E. 2563 (“EDEM”) made in April 2020 in response to the COVID-19 for E-meeting’s MDES was a major change in the law.  Minimum Information Security Standards and ETDA Information Security Standards were also included and practical advice on holding meetings was also provided. \nElectronic Signatures was addressed by Dr. Sumaporn (Srisoonthorn) Manasan\, Legal expert in the Legal Services Bureau\, Fiscal Policy Office of Ministry of Finance. SUMMARY:TDRI Seminar about Advancing Fast Track Regulatory Reform (Guillotine)
DESCRIPTION:On 14 October 2020\, Thailand Development Research Institute (TDRI)\, together with EABC and JFCCT\, held a public seminar “Regulatory Guillotine: Economic stimulus by regulatory reform”. More than 90 participants via Facebook livestream and many (including press) attended physically at the TDRI office. \nFast Track Regulatory Reform (Guillotine)  is a way to review laws and regulations in Thailand\, striving to reduce unnecessary processes or barriers to the establishment and the operation of business in Thailand.  The ‘Simple and Smart License” project produced over 1\,000 changes\, ready for implementation. This appears on the EABC website here \nSpeakers at the seminar on 14 October included Professor Dr. Borwornsak Uwanno \, Mr. Pakorn Nilprapan\, Mr. Kitti Tangchitmaneesakda\, Dr. Kiratipong Naewmalee\, and Mr. Bob Fox\, Chair\, Digital Economy/ICT group (EABC & JFCCT) and Vice President of EABC\, with endorsements from Mr Luca Bernardinetti (President EABC) and Mr Stanley Kang (Chairman JFCCT). The meeting is expected to be concluded by 11:30 hrs. \n  \nAttendance at the AGM: \nIn accordance with the EABC by laws\, only those registered as designated Representatives of paid up EABC Ordinary Members are entitled to attend and cast votes at the AGM. If the registered EABC representative cannot attend\, there are two means to cover the situation: \n  \n(i)       The Ordinary Member company can by its registered Representative\, appoint one second Representative who must be someone associated with the Ordinary Member company. DESCRIPTION:UN Women is organizing the  virtual roundtable  “Her Hands: Women SMEs’ Roles in Addressing Uncertainty in Times of COVID-19\, (Via Zoom) on  Friday\, 26 June 2020\, 15:00-16:30 PM Bangkok time (GMT+7) \nThe COVID-19 crisis is hitting women particularly hard\, as they make up the majority of those most vulnerable at work\, and they often bear the brunt of increased pressures at home. The crisis is also having a greater impact on small and medium enterprises (SMEs)\, as these have less capacity to absorb the shocks to supply chain and to customer revenue. The SME sector is hit hardest\, and women are facing compounded challenges and they are particularly vulnerable to the current crisis. \nThis event will explore opportunities for multi-stakeholder collaboration among governments\, large scale businesses\, intergovernmental and international organizations and civil society\, in order to promote gender-responsive SME support measures in Thailand.
