SUMMARY:Telecoms World Asia 2020
DESCRIPTION:The question of Thailand’s role as a digital centre of the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) relies on being a Digital Economy leader. Thailand’s geo-centricity in S E Asia is often heralded as a natural advantage in regional trade and investment. \n  \nThat might apply to goods\, but the winner in the digital world will be the economy with a Digital Economy which is innovative\, attractive and trusted\, underpinned by soft and hard telecoms infra\, highly regarded for Ease of Doing Business and competitiveness. \n  \nWhat in Thailand’s Digital Economy including infrastructure and data prowess can be used to support its ability to act as a digital and data centre in the GMS? What needs to be developed further and enhanced? \n  \nOn 28th October 2020\,  “Data\, Investment and Technology: Establishing Thailand at the centre of the Greater Mekong Subregion” was held as part of the Telecoms World Asia 2020 conference. Speakers were Sean Bergin\, President of AP Telecom\, Dr Tiranee Achalakul\, director of the Government Big Data Institute GDBi – DEPA (Ministry of Digital Economy and Society)\, the intelligence service provider for government agencies in Thailand and Natasak Rodjanapiches\, Vice Chairman\, Creative Digital Economy Subcommittee\, Board of Trade Thailand. \n  \nMr. Bob Fox\, Chair of Digital Economy/ICT Group (JFCCT and EABC) and Vice President EABC\, was a moderator. \n  \nVideo of record including presentations : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sl6j_MT_RCM&feature=youtu.be \n
